concept & project
PROJECT | BE HOUSE
The intervention consists of the rehabilitation and reactivation of a four-storey building located in Pedralbes, a protected Monastery in Barcelona (Spain), which limits and regulates the achievable performances in the whole facade. The main objective is to provide those features that enhance the quality of users’ life, through a rational distribution of space and greater flexibility for changing needs.
All levels are emptied of the opaque walls, including some structural elements and vertical links, in order to communicate directly the light from the two opposite walls, dilating the interior outward. The new container, which has the centralization of services and brightness produced through transparent dividers, has developed a high level of finishes according to the required program expectations.

PROJECT | BM HOUSE
The architectural proposal is developed from the aggregation of simple volumes between existing trees of the pine forest, using a composition system which associates a space with its own characteristics to each volume. All volumes represent a collection of boxes of increased size, so they can be prefabricated and transported, fitting them in sequence.

PROJECT | LANDSCAPE REHABILITATION “Scogli Rossi di Arbatax”
A WATERFRONT is designed following the erosive force of nature that creates a new curvilinear boundary suspended on the rocks. The projective gesture expresses the natural tension of the place and uses it to generate a new landscape.

PROJECT | SAPPADA POLIFUNCIONAL CENTER
The proposed geometry remembers the stunning geography of magnificent mountain scenery surrounding Sappada. It could be said that the project translates the geomorphological conditions, the organic, topographic and discontinuous geometry to establish a closer and stronger relationship between architecture and landscape.

PROJECT | VIADANA MUSIC SCHOOL
The location of Viadana, located in the valley of the river “Po”, has influenced the choice of two relationships that have established guidelines for the development of the project: the contemplation of the horizon and even minimal contact with the ground often flooded over the centuries.
Trying to dissolve the building in the landscape, we proposed a cylindrical volume, high above the ground, which remains constant and fluid perspective from any point of view. Like many towns in the Po valley the proposal creates a public space around which all the above activities are developed.

PROJECT | LA VIA DEL GELATO
The design of the activity is carried out through a steady rate of arcades which consist of slats and beams constructed as “origami”. The slats arranged the various stages of the raw material development in an infinite sequence that will extend the development and the sale also in future installations. The slats, positioned rotated with respect to the local orthogonality offer a double image walking the space.

PROJECT | AGRICULTURAL AND NATURAL PARK OF THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL CITY OF PAESTUM
The proposal is based on upgrade the territorial characteristics and the conditions and activities that have been generated over time with the development of the City with a new system of connection.

PROJECT | THE JAÉN JEWISH QUARTER. “SAN ANDRÉS” URBAN ENVIRONMENT REHABILITATION
The project develops the idea of dense living space as a feature of our society, more accustomed to the dense space vacuum, to meet with people rather than individual experience. It proposes to introduce an introvert plan to locate housing units, raised with respect to the portion of the ruins in order to allow the presence of a lower public space.
The backfill of this element consists in accessible inclined planes that fit the urban voids, keeping pace covered in relation to surrounding rooftops .
The intended result is a space that is developed from the analysis of public and residential architecture that seeks protection from variable weather closing and opening to the outside patios for light penetration. This concept is deeply rooted in the Muslim city and successive subsequent modifications due to spontaneous architecture that has built entire cities.

PROJECT | SWISS PAVILION EXPO 2015 MILAN
The Swiss Pavilion at the Expo Milano 2015 will be a unique icon that would be easily recognized by the Expo’s visitors from its exterior shape. Inspired by Switzerland’s cheese, the pavilion will be shaped by a series of openings leading to the different spaces of different sizes and scales required for the pavilion’s public programming and operations. Each space will have a circular shape reminiscent of the holes in a classic Swiss cheese. The use of such a memorable metaphor is appropriate for the Expo Milano 2015 given its focus on feeding the world, food for sustainable development. The circular shapes also loosely recalled the presentation of proteins and lipids, a basic nutrient for our life. Each space will however have a unique character. The use of different colors, materials, visual and sound effects as well as media and architectural treatment will ensure that each space has a different identity.

PROJECT | DUM DUM
Dum Dum is a social space, a place that stands for human values’ comprehension; it is an alternative to share moments and features.
The project starts from the harmony between the founder’s idea, what this place means for its users and the architecture’s ability to create the scene.
The proposal provides a NOMADIC ALTERNATIVE to the traditional building’s concept. It allows a respectful and temporary use of the location, like all the itinerant structures, and reduces the impact on the environment, fostering its normal development. The choice of the construction technology comes from the need to RECYCLE materials, reuse them to give them a second life.
