Carrer San Domènec is part of the first historical complex in Sant Cugat del Vallès and we decided to locate our studio on the ground floor of an old workshop there. The reform has mantained the essence and stratigraphy of the previous trades that were done in the workshop, creating an open space with a single work element in the center and a library on both sides of it. The building preserves the original wood slab from the first housing unit located upstairs and its subsequent extension with Catalan vaults. Every morning we arrive at the studio by foot, we get reminded to mantain a sensitive touch with the social lifestyle of the city, wich we hope to reflect in many scales in our projects in a globalized society.
